If we are to communicate effectively it is vitally important we understand what drives the way others communicate with us as well as how we relate to them. Communication styles are closely linked to behaviour patterns. These patterns, or habits, have developed over a life time and are unique to each individual but, fortunately for us, they do fall into recognisable categories.
This session has been designed to be interactive and fun. It carries a serious message and yet the more enjoyable you can make it the more likely it is that the group members will remember the importance of your communication. Familiarise yourself thoroughly with the material so that you can present it in a relaxed and confident manner. Feel free to use your own words whilst maintaining the psychology that makes the techniques work. THESE ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS COURSE: By the end of this session group members will be able to: • Name four different Behaviour Patterns. • List the characteristics common to the different Behaviour Patterns. • Explain how to adapt communication styles in order to communicate with each Behaviour Pattern. • Recognise their own Behaviour Patterns and style of communication. KEY KNOWLEDGE DIVIDENDS to group members: By understanding this process of communication you are able to control your own responses to others. You develop awareness of your own and other’s behaviour and communication patterns and so influence others more successfully. Considering other’s Behaviour Patterns and communication styles allows you to: a) Ensure the impact you have on others matches your intention. b) Succeed in business by building stronger relationships with others. c) Influence the behaviour and decisions of others. d) Increase awareness of how the way you organise and present information affects your credibility. |
